Concussions: More Common Than You May Think

According to the CDC, about 200,000 people in the United States suffer concussions while playing sports every year. About 85% of those go unrecognized.

That can be a scary statistic for the parent of a youth athlete. GMC's highly-acclaimed Sports Medicine Program is here to ease that fear. To improve the standard of care for athletes suffering concussions, we're leading the way with the Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT) program. Every public high school in Gwinnett, some in North Fulton, and all Gwinnett Football League teams are eligible to participate.
