Foodie Friday: Slow-Cooker Turkey Chili

Have you heard? Today, February 27 is National Chili Day! So we’re posting Foodie Friday a day early, in case you want to celebrate with this healthy, yummy take on traditional chili with beans.

Slow-Cooker Turkey Chili

1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
Cooking spray
1 pound ground turkey
2 cans (10 ounces) of low-sodium tomato soup
2 cans (15 ounces) of kidney beans, drained
1 can (15 ounce) of black beans, drained
1 small onion, chopped
½ green pepper, chopped
2 Tbsp. Chili powder
½ tsp. Cumin
1 tsp. Red pepper flakes
½ tsp. Black pepper

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the turkey until evenly browned, then drain. Lightly coat cooking spray inside the slow cooker. Add cooked turkey and all other ingredients. Stir and cover. Set slow cooker to high and simmer for 4 hours. Serves 8
